The Rajshomar Journal is a biannual academic journal of traditional hand-woven. It is an open-access, double-blind, peer-reviewed journal published by Faculty of Art, University of Birjand in Iran.

Rajshomar Journal has been established as the first scientific publication in the field of traditional hand-woven in Iran to provide an intellectual platform for national and international researchers working on issues related to traditional hand-woven with emphasis on

•   introduction all types of traditional hand-woven
•  Historical studies and the evolution of hand-woven
•  Design and motives
•  Weaving and restoration methods
•   Raw materials, dyeing, traditional finishing and printing
•   Comparative Studies and Interdisciplinary Sciences
•   Economics and Management, Sociology and Anthropology of hand-woven
•   Other textiles and traditional clothing

The journal has tried to study the issues in this field with the help of specialists and researchers of the field and provide the ground for the growth and prosperity of traditional hand-woven in the country. The Rajshomar Journal has started its activity since 2020. The Journal was founded for introducing the history and evolution of traditional hand-woven and was dedicated to the publication of highest-quality research studies that report findings on issues of great concern to the traditional hand-woven.

To allow for easy and worldwide access to the most updated research findings, the journal is set to be an open-access journal. Yet, the journal does not charge any fee for reviewing, processing, and publishing research papers from the authors or from the research institutes and organizations. All the mentioned processes for paper publication are sponsored by University of Birjand.  The journal is published as an online version.
